Marvin Dejean, CEO, Markcom Industries, Inc.

Marvin Dejean is a renowned speaker, author and digital marketing strategist at the forefront of the internet revolution. Through his thought provoking and entertaining presentations, Dejean challenges and engages audiences to view this moment as their greatest opportunity for success. He is the creator of the “Prime Directive” Leadership Program that helps businesses, individuals, and organizations take the quantum leap to the ever expanding digital marketplace. He is the author of several books and a syndicated columnist for several business newspapers. Mr. Dejean is also the host of his own television business show “Market Trends” on TeleAmerica, Channel 88 in Miami where he interviews prominent business leaders and entrepreneurs on some of the leading trends that are driving the global market place today.

Workshops

Whether you are trying to increase revenue or reduce expenses, there is a workshop for every business, every industry...everyone! In an effort to expose small business owners with the latest technology, industry best practices, and tools and resources that will take your business to the next level, participants will have the option to choose two of four workshop topics. These topics include Business Finance, Marketing/Public Relations, Legal, and Insurance. The Power Workshops will offer practical, intensive and interactive information, strategies and ideas that can be immediately applied to your business.

Keynote Luncheon & Awards Ceremony

The Palm Beach Partner’s Keynote Luncheon & Awards Ceremony honors community businesses, pioneers in their industry for their best practices in innovation, growth/success, value to the community and the environment, diversity promotion and customer service excellence.

The Master of Ceremony for this year’s Keynote Luncheon and Awards Ceremony will be Victor Blackwell. Mr. Blackwell anchors WPBF 25 News at 5, 6 and 11. Victor is not new to Florida. Before moving to West Palm Beach, he worked for WTLV/WJXX in Jacksonville. He's an Emmy-winning journalist who enjoys covering the events and uncovering the stories of South Florida. Victor has been honored with several regional Emmy nominations, a Telly award, several Associated Press awards and honors from the Society of Professional Journalists. He also earned the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award and the UNITY Award, both from the Radio and Television News Directors Association. Victor started his career as a writer for the Community Times newspaper in Columbia, Md. Victor worked as a producer for Radio11 WBAL in Baltimore and as a co-producer for WHUT-TV in Washington. He also worked for WPMT-TV in York, Pa., and WHAG-TV in Hagerstown, Md. While in Hagerstown, Victor broke the story of Holly Place, a low-income senior home that was slated to close because of a state funding gap. In the weeks following his story, state and community organizations raised enough money to keep the home open. Holly Place managers credit Victor's reporting with saving dozens of seniors from the streets. Victor earned a B.A. in broadcast journalism at Howard University in Washington. He is also a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists. When he's not working, Victor enjoys exercising, traveling and soaking up the culture of South Florida.

Luncheon Keynote Speaker

This year’s Luncheon Keynote will be presented by T. Willard Fair, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Urban League of Greater Miami, Inc. Mr. Fair is a powerful voice in the effort to improve his community, he has worked for the Urban League since September, 1963.

Fair has served as an adjunct professor, at the Atlanta University School of Social Work, Bethune Cookman College, Florida International University, and the National Urban League’s Whitney M. Young, Jr., Center for Urban Leadership. Fair’s published works includes articles in the “Miami Herald,” “Miami Magazine,” and “Tropic Magazine.” He has been a host of both radio and television programs. As an analyst on some of the pressing issues of the day, he has been interviewed by “60 Minutes,” the Tom Brokaw Show,” “Ebony Magazine,” and “National Geographic.” Selected Icon of the Month by Florida Trend Magazine, The Magazine of Florida Business, September 2006.
